~celamowari gave me a lot of leeway in drawing this, so I decided to try a miniature form of a faux cover. I need to work a bit on my lettering, but overall I really like the effect! It's like a comic book that got hit by a shrink ray!
Status: Not for Sale Size: 2.5"x3.5" (6.35x8.89 cm) Materials: Strathmore smooth bristol paper, Prismacolor inking pens, Bic Markers.

It really does. Like he took off from his job shilling for a fast food joint and decided to foil a bank heist! (Actually, that would be a funny comic. Huh.) And thank you! I want to try this motif again, it was really fun to play with.
The thing I find most awesome here is that the Penguin is exactly the sort of character people will think is mine, despite the fact that I didn't create him. I can only dream of having a brainstorm this brainy OR stormy.
I was really surprised when you elected to make this a wee! comic book cover. It works so well, and the amount of authentic detail is really quite surprising. Great work!
Oh, and giving him a top hat was an inspired choice. I have no idea why he didn't have one in the first place!
Incidentally, the Penguin is from a company that was called Bell Features, but it is long gone. In fact, he might be public domain by now. Hmmm...
If Wee!Chris had created the Penguin, he might have had a full-fledged penguin suit. That might impair his ability to get around just a bit.
Well, I'll tell you what - I have some regular trading cards with comic book covers and they look really neat. I just bet you could do something fabulous.
There's some additional info on him here [link] that explores the ownership issue and his creation. The one character from the WWII Canadian "whites" that I think would really interest you the most is Nelvana of the Northern Lights. [link][link]
Something just occurred to me, and it may just be a coincidence. Please check out this famous comic book ad for Count Dante and his Black Dragon Fighting Society.

Thank you! I'm really pleased with the decision and want to do more mini!cover ACEOs. It seems like a fun format to play with.
Ahh, I had wondered about that wee Bell logo. You know, I had wondered about his copyright status as well . . .
