A sister piece to the Beedrill girl I did [link] , these two are just the first of a suite of Pokemon girls I'm doing to print up as an artbook/postcard set.
Dragonair [link] was an interesting challenge to girlify as the design is so sleek and clean. I tried to give Miss D. Air a similar look, with smooth, sleek clothing and a graceful, snakelike pose.
Side note, on the Serebii Pokedex, they show all the Monsters in two colorways . . . is this a canon thing? Because I'm thinking a purple version of this would be cute. _________________________________ Pokemon (c) Nintendo Art (c) Kabukikatze Not for use elsewhere without my expressed, written permission.
I think the alternate color is the 'shiny' version... very rare and, um, shiny.
I've only ever seen a red Gyrados and a shiny Butterfree in the games myself, though. *doesn't play pearl or diamond*
Anyway, I LOVE Dragonair! And I think you really did her justice, too; she looks great! And again with the purpley-reds, even. Yay! ^_^
The shiny version. . . . okay. Makes as much sense as all Pokemon from Pinkenberry island being pink, I suppose.
A red Gyrados? Ooo, that would look nice.
Dragonair is one of my favorites (I like the dragon-types best) and I'm glad you like her so! The purple-reds are in there because apparently it's eyes are that shade (so says the anime) and because they're purdy.
But yeah, they started doing special versions of pokemon, and now I guess they're called 'shiny' versions and there's more of them. I think the creators were eating too many "pinkenberries"... but that's just me.
...So, on a somewhat but kind of not unrelated note, I take it you've never seen this gag picture? [link]
We want to know what love means to you!
Get your creative juices flowing and design a movie poster for "Paper Heart" that focuses on the theme "What Does Love Mean to Me?".
The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
