For , his gun-toting federale, Tex and his sexy, high-kicking Jinx!
Would you believe that these two get together and make babies?
Would you believe how embarrassing it is when your mom regales your friends with her sexy spy escapade stories?
Exactly!
Anyway, this was an exercise in sheer fun, as I got to draw a sexy gal, a cool guy, and a faux pulp novel cover (specifically modelled on the Baroness books. So. Much. FUN!
, the commissioner, was indeed making a reference to the couple. As far as I understand it, he came across the names and thought they sounded good together.
That is a SCANDALOUS outfit! You can't wear no undies with that on.

"It's 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, a half pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." "Hit it." -Blues Brothers
... You know, I really think these two have the best static-image chemistry of any couple I can remember you drawing. (that includes ones with my OC's, too.)
This really is spectacular! Honestly, you captured the great feel of the old pulp novel covers with your own distinct flavor to spice it up just perfectly. I love how you captured the air of grit and fortitude in Tex yet you gave him a soft, sympathetic side as well. Jinx... She's got that sexy cutout on her hip... Yeah.
This really is a spectacular endeavor on your part, m'lady.

"Ladies and gentlemen, suppose I come right out with it and admit to you now, that my old Martian hoax on the radio, was well, not exactly...a hoax."
Wow, thank you! I was really pleased with how this one came out pose-wise because I didn't rely so heavily on reference for it.
I'm very glad you like the look on Tex. I was a bit worried on him, but he turned out to be my favorite part of the picture. He just . . . looks like he'd be fun to get a drink with, you know? Funny you mention those cut-outs, they were all 's idea! XD
You're very welcome, my lady love. The poses are a little off-kilter, but in this case, it REALLY works to the pieces advantage!
You really did make a likable fellow in Tex. He really does look tough and capable, but you WOULD love to share a bottle of hooch with the guy.
And they're very good cut-outs!

I like when projects turn out even better than I imagined.
Seriously, this is fantastic stuff. I love when I hand you the ball and you run it right in for a touchdown. The paperback layout just came out so beautifully, and complements the image to perfection. I particularly like the cowboy, since you weren't even sure about him.
And they didn't just have babies, but a baby who grew up to be a superhero!
